Book review: Kathmandu by Thomas Bell
There is, too, much blood in Bell’s city, described as a carnival of hypocrisy and sexual license and a paradigm of failed democracy.
In Calcutta, I was distracted by a local newspaper report of how a middle aged man in the Hatapara village of Malda, was drugged and tied up to be sacrificed at the altar of the Goddess Kali, but was rescued by neighbours before “the swing of the chopper”.
Here was on-the-spot validation of Dalrymple’s accounts in his book, which I had dismissed as far fetched. The would-be sacrificial victim was lured to a puja by neighbours, drugged with a plate of prasad, his face covered in vermilion and his neck placed on a block by a tantrik.
This was four years ago, and it is this bizarre but ancient civilisation near the top of the world, where hundreds of castes and ethnic groups are thrown together in Kathmandu, regarding each other with indifference and occasionally contempt, which is unearthed and illuminated by Bell’s no nonsense reportage.
He does not seek to emulate the prosaic peaks of Dalrymple, but his sentences, short snapshots of Kathmandu’s moveable feast, memorably and clearly explicate how the locals propitiate either omnipresent gods or flesh and blood political rulers with sacrifices or zealous devotion.
Elsewhere, the city’s rapid modernisation reflects the seismic changes in urban traditional societies south of the Himalayas, but the many layers of Kathmandu’s progress are rooted to the past, from the apparent comforts of caste to the ethos of aristocracy and royalty: if you can for a moment ignore the bungled Western intervention, the environmental catastrophes, the permanent communism revolution, the daily carnival of sexual license and moral hypocrisy, Kathmandu remains, just like this book, eternally entertaining and oddly accessible despite the presence of many time warps in a single street and in a single sentence.
Bell is impelled by curiosity and an old fashioned, almost naïve spirit of adventure, but Kathmandu, because of his resourcefulness and bravado, deserves its place alongside Richard Burton’s Personal Narrative of a Pilgrimage to Al-Madinah and Meccah.
I shall dip into it for years to come.

Kathmandu Kids Kite V2 Review
Posted byMark/Published inReviews/26 October 2020
I’m writing this short review of the Kathmandu Kids Kite v2 largely because I couldn’t find anything about it on the web before I bought it, other than Kathmandu’s fairly basic write-up.
When buying a kite, you want to see what it looks like. Strangely Kathmandu only have a photo of the closed pack, which is also what you see in the store (update: I see Kathmandu have now added a photo of the full kite to the website).
The good news is that I took a leap of faith to buy it ‘sight unseen’ and I’m glad I did. I’ve included some photos here along with a quick video of the kite in flight. You’ll just have to excuse the quality as my five year old took it.
If you’re just looking to jump straight to the kite itself, you can do so on this link; an affiliate link that’ll help me out should you decide to buy.
I’ve scanned the instructions and made them available as a PDF that you can download here.
The kite is a parafoil kite and includes two large rings that allow easy handling. The line wraps around these two rings.
So what’s the kite like?
This Kathmandu kite is a parafoil kite. According to the label, they state:
A compact, dual-line parafoil kite, ideal to fit into any day pack.
As well as…
A manoeuvrable, aerodynamic kite that’s an ideal beginner option.
On that last note, they do also say that it’s not suitable for children under 8 years old. I bought this for my 5-turning-6 year old and can indeed confirm that it’s too advanced for him! The best we could do is me crouching behind him while we both held onto the control rings.
To be fair, he seemed to have just as much fun doing this as if he was in full control, plus he also enjoyed watching me fly it (note: wear sunglasses).
The instructions say the kite is 58cm x 123cm. 5-year-old for scale.
The rings are supplied with ‘flying line’ wrapped around them which needs to be tied to the ‘bridle line’ of the kite itself using the ‘Lark’s Head Method’. Clear instructions are provided. I’ve scanned these and linked to them as a PDF above.
Other details included:
- Parafoil Kite in Icon Green
- Not suitable for children under 8
- Wind Range: Beaufort Scale 2-5 (4-24 mph, 6.5-38 kph)
- Contents are the two control rings and line, the kite itself, and the bag which has a velcro closing and a loop for hanging
As you would imagine, it’s light weight and is quite easy to fold down, so makes for a great addition to a backpack on a day walk.
My own experiences of flying a kite as a child was pretty much 10% flying a kite and 90% trying to unravel the lines. While the Kathmandu Kids Kite v2 is going to need some unravelling at times (it can suddenly spiral in flight, wrapping the two flying lines around each other) the lines are generally very well laid out and positioned to reduce those frustrating knots. We’ve only flown it once so far but had plenty of flight time and little unravel time. It also behaves itself when folded-up, making storage easy.
Should you buy it?
Yup, go for it. Just make sure – like any Kathmandu product – you wait for a good sale. As it’s Kathmandu’s own brand, they often have decent sales on their products. $50 is a bit steep, but I bought mine for $39 during a ‘40% off all Kathmandu branded goods’ sale, and I’m pretty happy with the quality.
While my 5 year old has barely flown it, he still loves it and his face lights up when it takes to the skies. I also quite enjoyed flying it myself! I’ll just use my son as an excuse to have a play 😉
Click here to buy on Kathmandu’s website
As a side note: while flying it, be very aware of any dogs in the area. In the short time we were using it, we had two dogs run after it, and they only stopped when I let it fall to the ground and lie still. Also make sure your child doesn’t hang around between you and the kite – risking the lines hitting them – and follow all sensible precautions with regards to flying around powerlines, etc.

What makes the perfect electric touring bike? Comfort and all-terrain capabilities are high on the list, but what about reliability and battery range? The latest 2020 Kathmandu range of electric bikes from Cube are specifically designed with touring in mind. In this review, I will be looking at one of the higher specification models in the range. The excellent Cube Kathmandu SL 625.

Summary
Cube have a long heritage of producing excellent mountain bikes, and it shows with their excellent 2020 model Cube Kathmandu electric touring bike.
The Kathmandu has been designed specifically with this purpose in mind. The model reviewed in this article is the SL 625, which sits near the top of the range at £3299, although it does starts off considerably cheaper with the Hybrid One 500 at £2299.
I have owned a couple of Cube mountain bikes in the past, and I have always been impressed with the frame design and overall quality.
The new Kathmandu SL 625 looks great and feels unbreakable. The spec list on this hybrid bike is excellent, and reads more like something from a decent mountain bike. With Rockshox forks and Shimano XT 1 x 12 drive-train.

Electric Components
If you’re looking for an ebike to take touring, whether it is to explore the lake district or the Pyrenees. The most important things to consider are reliability, performance and battery range.
The last thing you want is to be stuck half-way up an Alpine pass, with no assist due to a broken motor or an empty battery.
Thankfully, Cube has thought this one through, and the 2020 Kathmandu comes with the latest 4th generation Bosch CX drive unit along with their Powertube 625Wh (watt hour) battery pack.
Bosch 4th Generation CX Motor
The latest generation Bosch CX motor has been improved in a number of ways over the outgoing model. One of the biggest differences, is the weight has been reduced to just 2.9kg.
What makes this particular drive unit so suitable for touring is its incredibly versatility. It will provide up to 300% assist (in relation to rider input), and it also has a very useful e-MTB mode, that will provide adaptive assist depending on your needs. This is particularly helpful if you are negotiating tricky off-road terrain (whilst carry loaded panniers).
Reliability is a key concern with any ebike motor, and this is one area where Bosch generally excel in. I’m not saying they’re perfect, and a small percentage of issues will effect some customers. But out of all the electric bike motors I have come across in nearly 4 years, the Bosch does seem to be the most reliable.
I know lots of riders of Bosch-powered ebikes who have covered very large mileages without any issues whatsoever.
One more key thing regarding this motor is the high-torque output. As the Bosch CX is designed specifically for mountain bikes, it produces up to 75Nm of torque, which is going to be very useful when climbing somewhere like the Pyrenees with fully loaded panniers!
Bosch Kiox Display
The all-new Bosch Kiox is so much more than just a display! The Kiox is an on-board computer that retains all the classic functions of a traditional electric bike display, but also gives you online access via a smartphone app.
The colour display provides you with all the important riding information, while the separate keypad (mounted by the left-hand grip) allows you to stay in perfect control of the handlebars
The Kiox can record your trip data and send it to your phone via the Bluetooth connection. You can also connect a heart rate monitor, which is particularly useful if you are using your ebike as a means of getting fitter.
All this data can be accessed from the app, and also from a desktop computer. Very useful for monitoring your progress, and a great way to boost your motivation.
The Kiox display not only has great functionality, but it is also incredibly robust. The screen is made from scratch resistant glass, and can also resist impacts from small stones.
Bosch Powertube 625 battery
The new Bosch Powertube 625 battery supplied with the Kathmandu SL has a massive 36v16.7ah capacity. Not only that, but it is now designed to fit neatly into the frame, so you can still have space for two water bottle holders.
A realistic range of 100 miles can be achieved from a single charge, meaning you can cover some serious ground on this bike on a daily basis. There is even the option to purchase a second battery if required.
Of course the battery range will be effected by the power level used, rider weight, the amount of luggage you are carrying and the topography of the land you are riding on. Bosch have kindly produced a range calculator which is a very useful guide.
Bike Components
Any good touring electric bike should be durable, and have robust components. The Cube Kathmandu SL is a true touring bike in this sense.
From the excellent Rockshox Judy forks through to Shimano’s XT 1 x 12 groupset, this is a bike that’s ready for anything the wild can throw at it.
Gearing
When touring, gear range is a very important consideration, especially if you are going somewhere like the Alps or Norway. Mid-drive electric bike motors like the Bosch are much more efficient at higher pedalling cadences. If you are spending a lot of time ascending long, steep climbs you want to be in a gear that is lower enough so you can still spin the pedals at a reasonable rpm.
Shimano XT 1 x 12
The Cube Kathmandu uses the excellent Shimano XT 1 x 12 groupset, that utilises a sensible 38t front chainring in combination with a mega-range 10-51 12-speed rear cassette and an XT RD-M8100-SGS, ShadowPlus rear derailleur. This is controlled by an excellent SLX SL-M7100 trigger shifter. The whole package is finished off with a Shimano SLX CN-M7100 chain.
This kind of kit is usually only reserved for high-end mountain bikes, and with this kind of gear range, and an electric motor you can climb practically anything!
Brakes
Brakes are also very important on a touring orientated electric bike. Hydraulic Shimano BR-MT520 and BR-MT500 disc brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear provide excellent stopping power in all extremes.
Wheels and Tyres
The tough Cube EX23 tubeless-ready rims have the traditional 36H spoke count. This increases rigidity especially over rough ground. The front wheel uses an excellent Shimano HB-MT400-B hub with a Boost thru-axle and centerlock disc mount. The rear hub is a Shimano FH-MT500 with a standard quick release, and centerlock disc mount.
Any good touring bike worth its salt, should have good old Schalwbe Marathon Plus tyres fitted. In the case of the Cube Kathmandu they have gone for the very latest Schwalbe Marathon E-Plus, which at 55-622 are wide enough to cope with a multitude of terrains, and yet still roll very well on tarmac.
I swear by Marathon Plus, and have racked up 10,000 miles in the last couple of years on these tyres without a single puncture!
Accessories
Naturally, a good touring bike will have lots of extras fitted, from a decent pannier rack through to mudguards and even lights.
Again the Cube Kathmandu SL caters for every whim. There is a powerful Herrmans H-Black MR8 front headlight and a Herrmans H-Trace rear light. These can be easily switched on or off using the display keypad.
There is a Cube CMPT kickstand, and the all important CUBE Integrated Carrier 2.0 pannier rack. Cube Acid 65mm mudguards and a bell finish off the package nicely.
Finishing Kit
The finishing kit on this bike is all typical high-quality Cube branded stuff. 700m wide trail handlebars ensure a comfortable riding position. The well-crafted saddle is complemented by a Cube 30.9mm suspension seatpost, with a Varioclose 34.9mm clamp.
Frame
Cube are renowned for their excellent frames. The Kathmandu uses Aluminium Superlite, gravity casting technology with efficient comfort frame geometry a Tapered Headtube and a fully integrated battery. The pannier rack is also integrated.
Who is the Cube Kathmandu aimed at?
The Cube Kathmandu SL 625 will have a broad appeal. Yes, it will make an excellent touring bike, but it would also be a great everyday commuter bike. With a battery this powerful, you could easily do a 20 mile daily commute for five days and only need to charge the battery once.
The included lights, mudguards and pannier rack, will also help to increase its appeal amongst commuters, as even the entry level models have all these extras fitted.
You could even use if for the odd trip to the shops, if you fitted a pair of large Ortlieb pannier bags.
If you are just a weekend leisure rider who wants the versatility of a hybrid, with the ruggedness of a mountain bike, the Kathmandu SL could be for you. It is certainly going to be more than capable of off-road riding due to the excellent gearing and suspension.
Conclusion
Cube have well and truly established themselves as global leaders in the electric bike world. They produce some of the most practical ebikes available, and some of their e-MTB’s are just superb.
The Cube Kathmandu SL 625 is an excellent all-purpose electric bike. Whether you want to take it touring, or use it every day for commuting on. It is just an excellent, well thought out ebike.
Unfortunately the SL model does come at a premium – £3299 is a lot of money for an electric bike. But offset this cost against running a car for 12 months, and it doesn’t seem that expensive.
Here is yet another ebike that I want to add to my wish list. The thought of being able to disappear for a whole day and cycle over a 100 miles without worrying about the battery running out of juice is very appealing.
The high quality components fitted to this bike also helped seal the deal for me. Having the incredible gear range offered by this bike is a big plus. Being able to take it off-road and explore usually inaccessible places is also great.
If you’re after a good electric bike for touring or commuting, the Cube Kathmandu SL 625 is going to be hard to beat.

Kathmandu Connection Web Series Review: Amit Sial's Show Lacks The Conviction To Follow Through
Rating:
2.0/5
Star Cast: Amit Sial, Aksha Pardasany, Anshumaan Pushkar, Gopal Datt
Director: Sachin Pathak
Available On: SonyLIV
Language: Hindi
Duration: 6 Episodes / 40 Minutes
Story: Kathmandu Connection follows an investigation following the 1993 Bombay blasts. It unravels new clues with the mysterious murder of the investigating officer; the kidnapping of a hotelier and the stalking of a journalist, all leading to a phone number to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
Review: Directed by Sachin Pathak, the show introduces itself as a story related to the 1993 Bombay Blasts, but essentially has no critical connection to it. The show follows two different stories about revenge, while a falsely accused gangster is struggling to clear his name, a journalist is avenging the death of a close companion.
The six-part series does not focus on the devastating events of the 1993 Bombay Blasts, but uses it as a starting point to reel in the audience. The show first introduces inspector Samarth Kaushik (Amit Sial) who becomes a DCP after gaining a name by becoming an encounter specialist in the Delhi Police force, Kathmandu A Quick Review. He is known to solves cases with conviction despite his personal life falling apart. However, his public image begins to crumble when he fails to solve a high-profile case.
DCP Samarth is immediately asked to hand over the case to a colleague but follows new leads on his own. Meanwhile, Kathmandu A Quick Review, he pursues other personal interests like journalist Shivani Bhatnagar (Aksha Pardasany). Shivani is the prime time news anchor of Global News, who has been receiving suspicious calls at home and at the studio. The mystery caller makes weird requests and often sends gifts to her.
ALSO READ: SonyLIV Announces Its Next, Titled Project 9191 Featuring Satyajit Sharma And Vaibhav Tatwawaadi
Shivani asks for Samarth's help to get rid of the caller while subtle romance brews between them. Meanwhile, Hitesh a CID officer, is investigating the murder of a fellow officer who was working on the Bombay Blast Case, Kathmandu A Quick Review. Samarth and Hitesh follow leads of their separate cases all leading to the one phone number in Kathmandu.
The makers have spent the first three episodes of the show setting up the mystery but fail to follow it through for the next three episodes. The show is set in 1993 and the makers have taken special care while designing the sets and the costumes, however, the characters don't necessarily reflect the same.
Even though the storyline featuring several twists seems promising, the execution is a let down. Halfway through the show, all characters begin to behave inorganically. The leading cast Amit Sial, Aksha Pardasany, and Anshumaan Pushkar have given their best, but the long pauses and awkward dialogues often take away the intended emotional impact of the scenes.
ALSO READ: Scam 1992 Web Series Review: Hansal Mehta Paints The Big Bull As Man Reaching For New Heights
There are several side plots and characters who have not contributed to the story, but seem to have been forced in for individual character arcs. The final episode in the season also ends halfway through a conversation, which hints at a cliffhanger but cuts off awkwardly. Overall, Kathmandu Connection is not at par with some other SonyLIV originals like Scam 1992, Gullak, JL50 and more.

“Amphi Men's Rain Jacket“
“Amphi Men's Rain Jacket“
Should be called wet jacket, NOT rain jacket, Kathmandu A Quick Review, for $400 that is inexplicably ridiculous, and a scam, and deceiving, and illegal. Besides under my arms i was completely wet after a 20min walk in mild rain, and that was with the hoodie up, so no water was getting in around my neck. Really peed off. I recall reading negative things about Kathmandu some 8 yrs ago and i said i'll never buy here for serious and honest adventure gear, but i forgot briefly and gave in. NEVER AGAIN. You can buy a $20 rain coat that actually stop water completely, Kathmandu A Quick Review. Shocking and sad really. Thanks Kathmandu. That is down right wrong.
At least you can thank me for the money, Kathmandu A Quick Review, that's what its all about isn't it, Kathmandu A Quick Review.
I chose to write here because they didn't allow my review on their site.
I purchased some T-shirts and shorts…
I purchased some T-shirts and shorts for our sons which were too small so I rang the Penrith NSW store to see if I could organise an exchange. An absolutely awesome young lady named Larisa answered the phone and was ever so helpful in organising the transfer of my required exchange items from other stores, offering to monitor delivery and call me when all items were in store (to save me doing multiple pick ups). On every occasion I dealt with Larisa, she was exceptionally polite, courteous and ever so pleasant to deal with. Makes me a very happy return customer, I wish there were more people like Larisa in this world! Thanks for everything Larisa, your superior customer service is very much appreciated, keep being awesome ;o)
Dollar store quality
Terrible quality products that don’t last long at all, Kathmandu A Quick Review. When I asked for a replacement or refund for waterproof pants that started falling to bits well within the warranty period, they refused to honour this as the pants had been used?!!! And tried to sell me $40 patches to fix the damage. Also had a bag purchased new that fell to pieces in 2 months of normal use - broken zips, fabric frayed at all seams and zips, and lining started to fall off. Rude management was condescending and refused to negotiate any compensation for the flimsy cheap plastic junk I was sold. My experience over several times is that they will tell you the item is under warranty but they can’t replace it as they have decided the damage was caused by you and not the sub par quality not being fit for use. Quality was ok 40 years ago Kathmandu A Quick Review they can only get by on reputation for Kathmandu A Quick Review long - I have lost all trust in this brand and will never buy their junk again.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Good day!
I am writing this email to complain about the terrible customer service I had experienced at your Kathmandu store in Adelaide CBD (Rundle Mall) on August 14th around 10 in the morning.
I had to return my jacket I ordered online as it was the wrong size, but I was told straight up I couldn’t do it as I did it through Afterpay. There was a man there ( I didn’t get his name) who told me I should send it by post as I did it online and so did the lady named Rebekah. When I told them I am from Whyalla, Rebekah said then maybe next time you order online, you make sure it’s the right size, which I find terribly rude.
Now my understanding on returns policy purchased online through Afterpay is to either send it by post or in person using the Afterpay app to process the refund(screenshot attached). WHY IS YOUR STAFF SO RUDE Kathmandu A Quick Review NOT DO THIS STRAIGHT UP. That was just very very poor customer service when I was the only customer in store that morning so far and they were just behind the counter talking to each other. I actually had to tell them about this returns policy and fought for my right as a customer. Eventually they gave up, and yes I was right, they processed a refund for me.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY Kathmandu A Quick Review EXCUSE FOR RUDE BEHAVIOUR IN THE RETAIL INDUSTRY AND YOUR STAFF SEEMED TO LACK TRAINING ON THIS. I am in the health care industry as a Registered Nurse, and we are trained to be kind even when it’s painful not to, even when we are busy and hungry and exhausted. But for your staff to rudely decline help when they were just standing there talking to each other with only me as a customer is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. You can check your cctv that morning to verify this.
We recently moved from Brisbane to Whyalla and we have no idea what Kathmandu sizing is like as we didn’t have to buy bulky jackets Kathmandu A Quick Review Brisbane winter. We have a 15-month old child and it is hard to travel long distance from Whyalla to Adelaide (4-hour road trip becomes a 6) and vice versa, and that’s the reason for online purchase, Kathmandu A Quick Review. My husband had a business trip in Adelaide on that day so might as well return the jacket in store, in person. This was our first family trip in six months since our move from Brisbane. Everybody has a story, and I shouldn’t have to share mine. BUT TO BE TREATED RUDELY IS WRONG, AND I THOUGHT, I SHOULD SPEAK UP SO YOUR STAFF IN STORE BE REPRIMANDED AND BE TRAINED GOOD MANNERS AND Kathmandu A Quick Review CONDUCT, Kathmandu A Quick Review.
Sharing this so there will be a positive change in that store. In a world that has become so small with the pandemic, it is but wise to be kind to one another as we only have each other.
Online order
I received my jacket Yesterday from kathmandu (which I will never buy from), the jacket have Legacy Of The Wild Slot Machine smell.I tried to contact your UNPROFESSIONAL staff memebrs I have been told that they cannot do anything about it, and to try to wash the jacket (I didn't pay hundreds of dollars to get a second hand jacket and wash it I could have gone to the op shop and got my self a used one and wash it). I asked them to speak to the Kathmandu A Quick Review they didn't let me. And they told to wait until, the lockdown is over to visit one of your stores (how UNPROFESSIONAL to ask customers to wait untill the lockdown is over) plus I am not going to pay for the postage for something that is not my fault rather than asking my to wait and visit your store or post the jacket back your staff should have said we will refund your money (I mean either ways you will not be Kathmandu A Quick Review to sell this jacket as no one will buy a smelly jacket)
The first jacket that I bought was lost because of your bad Service then I received a replacement with unpleasant smell (what kind of Service is this) plus your UNPROFESSIONAL staff (you better hire people with manners and they have skills to talk to customers)
Overrated
Overrated. After over a year, my jacket is still "moulting", was told this was normal, but I'm sick of brushing white feathers off my black jumper all day.
Awesome Service
I was impressed with the prompt salutation & question ‘did I needed assistance’ when I entered Kathmandu at Belconnen ACT.
I needed to purchase hiking boots.
Vin listened as I explained what features I needed & why I needed them. He discussed the benefits of several brands without encouraging me to make a quick decision.
He then brought several sizes of my first choice and offered to bring my second choice for me to try for size & comfort.
He identified advantages of these boots & what to look for to ensure I had the correct fit. After I decided on correct fitting - with Vin’s knowledge - he encouraged me to take my time walking in the store before I made my purchased, Kathmandu A Quick Review. Vin was very professional, helpful, polite and friendly.

Never ever buy from this company on the…
Never ever buy from this company on the expectation cash back will be honoured. The rate they applied was lower than advertised and after a full year they have not paid out. Kathmandu A Quick Review back company says they can do nothing. Over priced jacket for the money but advertised cash back made it a better deal. Will never purchase from them again, Kathmandu A Quick Review, complete charlatans as far as I am concerned. You have been warned!
DEFECTIVE ZIPPER ON KATMANDU JACKET
Purchased a black lightweight rain jacket with hood from Katmandu and the zipper was always difficult to open and close. Now does not work at all and as I intended to have this jacket long term, I do not have the receipt but it does not fit the purpose for purchase. Defective zipper is poor quality item.
No welcome voucher
Joined the Summit club. Did not receive the welcome voucher or the Anniversary Voucher. Fake and misleading marketing by Kathmandu
Contact them about this, they were extremely rude about this even after giving them proof of promotion.

I couldn't find the right size, without any delay or hesitation he offered to look for right size/ color so it can save hassle for me. I picked up jacket which was a gift for my father. I thought Large size would be good. Josh went through hassle and arranged it from another store which I picked from him. But when I picked it and my father tried Large size was too large. :( I went in Werribee store to ask for another size and they simply said NO. so I went back to.Josh again and shared whole story. He told me to check what he can. He has gotten Kathmandu A Quick Review now he will arrange for a Medium size for me and he is doing this for me!! Excellent Customer Services
I had a problem with an e gift card, for some reason the email did not get delivered. I contacted customer services and the help I received was excellent. They dealt with my problem quickly and efficiently and could not have been more helpful.
If you were considering to purchase product from them, you may need to think about it
Long story in short I purchased two jackets from Kathmandu and shipped to Taiwan, after waited for two weeksKathmandu said they couldn’t allocate the shipment so they asked me to wait until they figured out where this shipment going. So wait for another few days, they said they couldn’t allocate the parcel nor have same items I purchased in their stocks so they asked me to replace with similar quality products, okay, fine, I accepted and they replaced and finally this shipment been delivered yesterday, which took over 1 month, my mum told me “ why you buy something we have to pay for it for them” I said” what do you mean you pay for it?” She said “ DHL just charged her $150when this shipment was delivered “
I couldn’t believe that they charged my parents $150Tumbletons Slots Machine almost 40% of the total value of the product. I rang Kathmandu and they said this was some tax surcharge may eventuate when a parcel delivered in a country and this was controlled by them.
After all of this, I could understand that some surcharg may require to release the product from Kathmandu A Quick Review but if they could inform me beforehand then I could have paid for this surcharge rather than paid by my parents, which was pretty bad impression
In the end, after all of this, Kathmandu A Quick Review, Kathmandu only used one link and told me that cannot responsible for this cost but wouldn’t mind to give us the $30 voucher?!?!??!?
Very very bad impression from Kathmandu
If you were considering to purchase product from them, you may need to think about it

Love their items and prices
Love their items and prices. Nice selection. Would love it if they had a USA presence! Always received great customer service.
Worst service ever
I ordered a $300+ jacket which supposedly arrived but I didn't receive. I have sent multiple emails and been on hold trying to get through to the telephone line for 2 hours before I gave up. This is the worst service I have ever experienced, Kathmandu A Quick Review. Still no refund.
I used to think very highly of kathmandu.
The products I ordered vanished in shipping between the warehouse and the store, so they would not give me a refund because i could not return the items! They really expected me to return the items I never received and were lost in transit between two of their locations! Mind Blown! Never Again! My phone calls were hung up on, Kathmandu A Quick Review, when online messaging ran out of answers they just disconnected, my emails were not replied too, Kathmandu A Quick Review. In the end had to contact my bank to sort it out.

In this review, I will be looking at one of the higher specification models in the range. The excellent Cube Kathmandu SL 625.

Summary
Cube have Book of Aztec Slots Machine long heritage of producing excellent mountain bikes, and it shows with their excellent 2020 model Cube Kathmandu electric touring bike.

Thankfully, Cube has thought this one through, Kathmandu A Quick Review, and the 2020 Kathmandu comes with the latest 4th generation Bosch CX drive unit along with their Kathmandu A Quick Review 625Wh (watt hour) battery pack.
Bosch 4th Generation CX Motor
The latest generation Bosch CX motor has been improved in a number of ways over the outgoing model. One of the biggest differences, is the weight has been reduced to just 2.9kg.
What makes this particular drive unit so suitable for touring is its incredibly Kathmandu A Quick Review.
As the Bosch CX is designed specifically for mountain bikes, it produces up to 75Nm of torque, which is going to be very useful when climbing somewhere like the Pyrenees with fully loaded Kathmandu A Quick Review Kiox Display
The all-new Bosch Kiox is so much more than just a display! The Kiox is an on-board computer that retains all the classic functions of a traditional electric bike display, but also gives you online access via a smartphone app.
The colour display provides you with all the important riding information, Kathmandu A Quick Review, while the separate keypad (mounted by the left-hand grip) allows you to stay in perfect control of the handlebars
Mid-drive electric bike motors like the Bosch are much more Kathmandu A Quick Review at higher pedalling cadences.
This kind of kit is usually only reserved for high-end mountain bikes, and with this kind of gear range, Kathmandu A Quick Review, and an electric motor you can climb practically anything!
Again the Cube Kathmandu SL Kathmandu A Quick Review for every whim, Kathmandu A Quick Review.
The finishing kit on this bike is Kathmandu A Quick Review typical high-quality Cube branded stuff. 700m wide trail handlebars ensure a comfortable riding Kathmandu A Quick Review.
With a battery this powerful, Kathmandu A Quick Review, you could easily do a 20 mile daily commute for five days and only need to charge the battery once.
The included lights, mudguards and pannier rack, will also help to increase its appeal amongst commuters, as even the entry level models have all these extras fitted.
You could even use if for the odd trip to the shops, if you fitted a pair of large Ortlieb pannier bags.
If you are just a Kathmandu A Quick Review leisure rider who wants the versatility of a hybrid, with the ruggedness of a mountain bike, the Kathmandu SL could be for you.
Having the incredible gear range offered by this bike is a big plus, Kathmandu A Quick Review. Being able to take it off-road and explore usually inaccessible places is also great.
If you’re after a good electric bike for touring or commuting, Kathmandu A Quick Review, the Cube Kathmandu SL 625 is going to be hard to beat.
