Up until recently the Monarch Casino would have been rated at least 4 stars by myself. New management has taken away the feeling of comfort, security and appreciation the job once offered. They display very cold and calculated leadership that I could not appreciate. Very unstable and unfair workplace. Leaders treat hourly employees like garbage and HR seems to only side with management.

Mass hiring, with no hours or promise

Don’t apply or work there. They mass hire them leave you in the dust with no direction, no promise. Management does not care about you or your life. They’ll make all these promises then not deliver. Every time I call them to find out what the updates are for opening, they have no idea.

The Director of Finance and the Casino Controller both are fantastic to work for. Both women are not only organized, but they keep a tight ship environment yet they are easy to talk to. Open door is apparent and encouraged within the Finance department. I really miss working with those Ladies.

I loved working Gaming jobs in Colorado! These are positions that require responsible adults to pay extremely close attention to the whole Casino environment, particularly in areas of regulation and accuracy with funds.

everything you have heard about engineering / facilities/ maintenance dept is true

the engineering/maintenance department is understaffed to the point of you will be hired as what ever job title they deem fit. then you will do the job of many people In one day you could go from auto mechanic, engineer, plumber, mover, etc. the company is so cheap they refuse to pay the contractor building the new casino causing monarch employees to do work inside the new building. they are so cheap work that should be contracted out is force on the engineering dept regardless of safety issues .this is a horrible place to work. the director and chief engineer is the reason the dept has gone thru 32 people in 3 years until this problem is fixed nothing will or has changed

Facilities was a horrible place to work. The chief engineer does not work well with people and treats them horribly. He has zero communication skills and acts like a child. The director of facilities knows of this and let's him act like this. It's been going on for over 3 years. This dept went through over 30 people during this time.

This is the absolute worst place I have ever worked in my life. upper management and HR will lie and tell you ANYTHING to get body's in the door. I would not recommend this job to my worst enemy. the employee morall is the so low. absolutely the most miserable place to be first and last warning

Not a very decent casino place to work for. You will have to do far more overload work in any department then is expected. If you have very fast professional time exceeding skills to any field of work in this casino, you will do fine but be paid for what you are really worth, before applying.

The place was ok to work for. But when you start a job at Monarch casino, be ready to do more then is required, I learned a great skill in Housekeeping, The manager in that department is really nice. Workplace and working with others is ok, The hardest issues affecting the housekeeping department is a lack of keeping new workers. training is poor, and you will feel overworked, and very uncertain about the place. The most thing I really liked about the job is once you learn a skill, apply all your efforts, and maintain a sharp focus on your goals, You will do fine.

Count in main bank. Check ATM's and Kiosks to reload and balance. Check schedule for on coming cashiers. Check with management on new promotions. The hardest part of the job was coordinate time with security on filling kiosks. The most enjoyable time is spent helping out front line cashiers.

Positive working environment

Working at Monarch casino in Blackhawk Colorado was a very interesting experience. I was able to deal several games including blackjack, roulette, Paigow, Three Card Poker and dealers keep their own tips which is a great benefit. Also there is no smoking allowed so dealers can finally enjoy a smoke free working environment. The one big draw back is the long commute up the mountain especially during winter months. Employees are encouraged to ride employee bus and pay $4 a day round trip. Employees also can eat in buffet and are charged $3 per day for 1 meal. Over all it was a good experience however I did not like snow and cold weather.
